For those of you unaware of who she was, Megan Boyd was known all over the UK for her salmon flies. She lived alone in northern Scotland in a small cabin overlooking the North Sea. There she tied many beautiful flies that grew in popularity among anglers because of their effectiveness. She had a list of clients that included local neighbors to the Prince of Wales.
Her flies are extremely collectible today. They are beautiful works of art in themselves, but were made to catch fish. This movie tries to honor her memory & take account of how things, including salmon flies, have changed.
I haven't seen the movie yet, but the trailer certainly has me interested. You can watch it below. It looks like a beautiful movie - almost as much as Megan Boyd's flies.
