In addition to that - this method would be good for any dry fly where you cannot give a back cast. Imagine your back is up against some trees or high brush & a back cast is impossible, yet there is a trout rising nearby. If you're like me & will probably need multiple casts before you can get the trout to take or refuse the fly, you'll need to dry it off at some point, to keep it floating high. This method would be perfect for that, since you can't dry it out the traditional way with several overhead back & forth casts.
