Since these rods have no real collectible value & usually need a good going-over, I strip the rods, refinish them, & then put the correct amount of line guides on. What I end up with is a rod that looks good & casts a line better than it ever did.
In the photos below is an example of a vintage 1960's fiberglass rod that has been restored. While not a "collectible" rod, it is now quite ready to fish better than it ever did. Click on any of the photos for a better look.
